My Story...

There are moments in life when everything changes - when who we've been no longer fits who we're becoming. I've lived through those thresholds myself.

My path began in a family shaped by love, loss, and resilience. Losing my biological mother at a young age and growing up in blended households taught me early about the complexity of relationships, belonging, and the courage it takes to find your voice. Those experiences planted the seeds for my deep compassion and curiosity about how people heal, adapt, and grow through life's hardest transitions.

Over the years, I've walked with many people who - like me - have found themselves standing at a threshold: between roles, seasons, or versions of self. Whether facing grief, burnout, life changes, or a longing for deeper meaning, they arrive ready to reconnect with their strength, wisdom, and purpose.

Through my work as a therapist and coach, I bring together the tools of evidence-based healing - Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, somatic and mindfulness approaches - with an intuitive, relational style that honors the whole person. My goal is to help people not only heal what needs to be healed, but to cross into what's next with grace, authenticity, and self-trust.

Threshold Therapy and Coaching was born from my belief that growth happens when we honor both the pain of endings and the promise of new beginnings. It's a space for reflection, renewal, and becoming - for people ready to rediscover who they are on the other side of change.

Karin earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona, where she built a strong foundation in human behavior and the science of mental health. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Social Work at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, a program known for its emphasis on clinical excellence, social justice, and advanced therapeutic practice.

Her educational path reflects her long-standing commitment to understanding the human experience and supporting others through meaningful, evidence-based care.

As an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) Karin's working experience has included both community mental health and private practice. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals navigating grief, trauma, depression, anxiety and life transitions. Her work is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a deep belief in every person's capacity for healing and growth.

Over time, Karin's practice has increasingly centered on supporting individuals in midlife as they redefine their identity for the next chapter of life, deepen their sense of personal agency, and root themselves in a grounded, authentic self.

Her approach is rooted in warmth, authenticity, and curiosity. She believes therapy is a collaborative journey - one that helps clients move toward healing, resilience, and a more aligned, empowered version of themselves.

As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)-trained therapist and a certified provider of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), she brings advanced trauma-focused expertise to her clinical work. In addition to EMDR and ART, she has also received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and integrates parts-work approaches to help clients better understand and care for the different aspects of themselves.
